Our next four objectives were to:

  • 1: create cycling improvements.
  • 2: develop orientation signage to access the coast.
  • 3: provide two key visitor hubs to benefit visitors.
  • 4: improve footpaths, particularly links to bus stops as well as signage to the South West Coast Path.

1: beefing up the bike routes

We have bike routes; but we knew we could improve them, sign them better, get more people out of cars and into the fresh air.

So we did.

2: better signs to the sea

Our job was to develop orientation signage to access the coast.

That’s trickier than it might seem, as signage can be seen as ugly or out of place by local communities, or get damamged, or moved.

But we tried our hardest to ensure all communication routes stayed open and healthy, and developed some great signage that did what we all wanted it to do, and managed to do it despite covid.

3: provide two key visitor hubs

Technically this was to benefit visitors, but really it’s to benefit everyone.

4: linking up!

So we set out to improve footpaths, particularly links to bus stops as well as signage to the South West Coast Path.
