Select a Bus Route
Sit back and enjoy a journey through some of Cornwall's most rural villages, jaw-dropping countryside and spectacular coastline; easily missed when your eyes are glued to the road. And, once you step off at your stop you are only moments away from finding a footpath or immersing yourself into the buzz of local community life.
Local Bus Times and the BEST Journey Planner
Our local bus services are operated by ‘Transport for Cornwall’ who operate Route 8 and Route 18 and also First Bus – ‘Cornwall by Kernow’ who operate a scenic circular route on the Land’s End Coaster and the more direct route to our World Heritage Mining sites via the Tin Coaster.
If you’d like all your travel planning done for you The Traveline South West Journey Planner is the best way to plan your trip using both buses and trains from anywhere in the UK.
The Land's End Coaster
The Land's End Coaster is an experience in itself. A circular route which in warmer months is followed by an open top bus. Clockwise the route runs from Penzance, then Newlyn on to Porthcurno, Land's End, Sennen Cove, along our Tin Coast and on to St Ives, looping back to Penzance via St Erth mainline Train Station, Marazion and St Michaels Mount.
Jump on the Land's End Coaster anti clockwise and follow the route in reverse!
From the top deck you can feast your senses on quite possibly some of the most exceptional views that West Cornwall has to offer and visit some of Cornwall's most iconic landmarks along the way!
By Train
With routine train services arriving into Penzance from as far afield as Glasgow and London and more locally from Plymouth and Truro you can reach the Tin Coast from Penzance by bus, taxi or even bike. After all, it's all part of the adventure.
By Car
On the Tin Coast our roads are narrow and windy. Take care, slow down, give cyclists, walkers and horse riders ample space and always expect the unexpected around every turn and bend. Better still plan for car free travel wherever possible.
By Ferry or Fly
The Tin Coast is the perfect place to stay before hopping onto a plane or boat and retreating into island life on the Isles of Scilly. And, with UK and International visitors touching down at Newquay Airport here is how to find your way to our warm West Cornwall welcome.
